IPL/BBR — BroadBand Light Therapy

BBR treatments, also known as BroadBand Light (BBL), are among the most advanced methods for skin rejuvenation, effectively addressing pigmentation, redness, sun damage, and uneven skin tone all in one gentle, non-invasive procedure. Whether you're combating sun spots from our Queensland summers, persistent redness, or simply aim for that radiant, lit-from-within glow, this could be precisely what your skin has been waiting for.

What is BBR?

BroadBand Light (BBR) employs cutting-edge light energy to target issues like pigmentation, redness, broken capillaries, and uneven skin tone right at the source. This approach is milder and more accurate than older IPL technology, resulting in superior outcomes with minimal irritation. Most clients report feeling a warm snapping sensation during the treatment—it's quick, bearable, and over before you know it.

BBR treatments can help with:

- Sun spots and pigmentation

- Redness and flushing

- Broken capillaries

- Uneven skin tone and texture

- Early signs of sun damage

- Dull, tired-looking skin

What to expect?

Your consultation: Every new BBR client begins with a comprehensive skin consultation to assess your skin type, medical history, and treatment suitability, allowing us to create a personalized plan tailored to your skin rejuvenation goals. A test patch will be included in your initial consultation. (If you’re on specific medications or have certain skin conditions, we may require medical clearance from your GP first — this is just a precaution to ensure your safety.)

The treatment: It’s a quick and comfortable session, typically lasting 15–45 minutes depending on the treatment area. There’s no significant downtime; however, some light redness for a few hours afterward is quite normal, resembling mild sunburn.

Your results: You may notice that pigmentation darkens slightly before it starts to flake off over 1–2 weeks. Redness and overall skin tone will improve gradually with a series of BBR treatments, so most clients achieve optimal results after multiple sessions rather than just one.
